Roaming The Rocks - - sights and thrills at a Gothenburg shore

Traveling in combination with landscape photography is great, but much of my "work" concentrates on areas close to home. If the locations lie within the limits of our city, Gothenburg, the attention even heightens! Finding beauty spots as sort of hidden gems within - or very close to - bustling civilization is exciting.
This coastal area that I found some years ago receives surprisingly few visitors. At times I do not encounter a single soul on my excursions. It takes less than an hour from the center to get there by bus, already including a 15 min walk!

The terrain here probably confines a number of people to the few trails. That is unfortunate, since it mostly takes only footwear with good grip for penetrating the little more demanding rocky parts. Good soles are indeed needed to tackle grades just a bit steeper than one would normally be comfortable with.

Certain narrow canyons and densely forested parts are a bit rough, with slow and meandering progress. You might even encounter virtually inaccessible sections, due to chasms, rifts, steep or negative grades, thorny bushes, water holes and swamps. But all this can be avoided. Backtracking does happen occasionally.  Once I encountered an oversize anthill with enormous multi-lane traffic in and out. It prompted me to reverse my planned incursion in a hurry. These amazing creatures for sure know who they don't want in their territory, they send a whole patrol straight up my legs, spreading out on me in army fashion. At least that's what it felt like.😓 Great fun!
