Images from a coastal stretch within the Gothenburg city limits. Visited mostly in summer for a swim. No beaches, stairs take you into the water. The other seasons don't see a lot of visitors, some dog-walkers, joggers, very rarely someone with a camera.
The terrain probably confines a number of people to the few trails. Unfortunate, since all it takes for entering the quite inviting rocky parts is footwear with good grip. You couldn't get very far without being confident to safely tackle grades just a little bit steeper than you would normally be comfortable with. On top, wetness, in combination with algae, lichen and mosses covering the rock, will cause slippery conditions, demanding extra caution. Luckily we have a local company designing and producing the type of footwear needed here. For the wintertime they produce a steel-studded boot, making activity possible even then, just great.
If you like exploring, certain valley and forest parts are a bit rough, with slow and meandering progress. You might even encounter virtually inaccessible sections, due to chasms, rifts, steep or negative grades, thorny bushes, water holes and swamps. Frequently several of these conditions combine! To boot, ticks may have a field day with you. And oversize anthills with enormous multi-lane traffic in and out have prompted me more than once to reverse my planned incursion in a hurry. These amazing creatures for sure know who they don't want in their territory, they send one whole traffic lane straight up your legs, then spreading out in army fashion. At least that's what it feels like.đ Great fun!
