Summer trip to Germany, Austria and Italy, 2013 ----- Part 1: Worms, Speyer, Ulm, Austria, Merano, Trento, Garda Lake, Verona and Padua

But you can also get to Part 2 + 3 by clicking on Older Posts in the lower area of the pages

These images are from a trip combining holiday with a cultural itinerary of our own planning. This type of pre-planning made it possible to apply for a grant from a foundation covering part of the costs for approved educational travel.
Our main goal was to visit the three North Italian cities of Verona, Padua and Venice. Many of the wayside places were also part of our program.

Note: It is absolutely impossible to take pictures inside the Scrovegni Chapel, the following three images are taken from public domain sources

Giotto frescoes, Capella Scrovegni, Padua. The total experience is breathtaking and awe-inspiring. The towering artistic highlite of our trip, if not of our lives!
