My tribute to Montreal-based singer-songwriter Lhasa de Sela, who sadly succumbed to cancer on January 1st 2010 at age thirtyseven. Lhasa has an interesting biography as one of ten children of an American mother and a Mexican father, travelling far and wide with the family in a school bus turned mobile home. She has been a longtime resident of Montreal, Quebec and has a strong following in Canada. With a relatively small body of work of three CDs within twelve years she nevertheless got herself a name in many European countries, particularly in France, where she also periodically lived.
